We often go for weekend Heritage walks. We have fallen in love with Delhi and Lakshmi loves the broad open spaces too. She by now knows a what a tomb is too.
We have to drive past the Tughlakabad Fort and Ghiyasuddin Tughlak's tomb everyday. One sunday we went to the fort with a friend. We made friends with another family with two girls who also happened to live in our colony. We crossed the Mehrauli-Badarpur Road and went across to the tomb. The tomb is absolutely stunning inside. The grass in the courtyard is very well kept. You can run on the walls. We had a whale of time.
Earlier she used to notice only the fort. Now everyday she looked for tomb and exclaimed as we drove past.
"Will I too die one day?" she asked.
"Yes"
"Will you build me a tomb?" was the next question.
"If I am alive, yes. Otherwise you ask your daughter to build you one"
"Where is my daughter?"
"She is not born yet"
"So, where is she now?"
