Our day out in Asola

Our house is getting painted. We spent the whole day from abuot 12:30 in the afternoon till 5pm in Asola since it is close home. It was so engaging. Snigdha there loves children and she took me and Lakshmi out.

We first spent about 15 minutes at teh pond staring at a frog that was sitting on a water lily leaf. It was sitting so still and Lakshmi wanted to know why. Snigdha explained that the frog did not want to be noticed. So we tried sitting still. We went up and stood in one watch tower.

We found a little pod which had seeds like Parachutes. There were atleast 100 inside. i did know flying seeds could be so much fun. they were glinting in the sun.

We walked around the trees in which there were small birds -- prinias and tailor birds.

We sat for hours at the watch tower. We saw a Nilgai and soem peacocks. After a while Lakshmi insisted that she saw a deer, a sambar deer in the grasslands. We thought it was her usual lion or tiger and sambar deer story.

But we looked in the general direction and lo and Behold! we could see teh antlers clearly. There a big deer sittign in the brown dry grass. Singdha said "It has never been reported here before. I wished I had a camera". We watched the deer for nearly an hour before we left.
