"Can you bring me a piano?" she begins "I want to dance on the keys and play".
"You have to be gentle on a piano. You cannot play with your feet" I say.
"But Toulouse and her sister play it that way" she said referring to characters in Disney's Aristocats.
"They are cartoons. Not real cats. They are playing jhootmoot ka".
"But I'm a fun cat".
She brings a stool along and puts it along the crockery counter and plays the piano and then climbs up and dances.
I had suspected that she thought the cartoons were real for a while now. She had smashed a plate to Vish's face once when she was mildy annoyed. We have some very close friends who have saved up their 21-year-old's toys. They would let Lakshmi play on the Casio keyboard that she had used. It is in a plastic cover and they remove the batteries everytime they put it away. Lakshmi is real gentle with that keyboard. But one day they were horrified when she was playing with her legs.
But this weekend I spoke to my brother-in-law, a movie freak about this. He said he had seen 101 Damatians when he was 10. He did not realise that it was an animation till much later when he saw another version which was part animation.
